Choose this when the combined mountain-and-lake experience is the priority. It gives most active visitors time to climb, descend carefully, recover over lunch and enjoy the boat ride.
Conditional: Full Crater Circuit
The climb, approximately 7.2 km rim loop and descent create a longer outing. Attempt it only with a fit group, the earliest agreed departure and suitable trail and weather conditions.
Adding Crescent Island
A guided sanctuary walk requires the correct boat routing, separate entry and a longer lake stop. It works best after the shorter rim-return hike.

Can Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha be visited in one day from Nairobi?
Yes. The combination works best with a 5:30–6:00 AM departure, the crater-rim return hike, then lunch and an approximately one-hour Lake Naivasha boat ride. Treat it as a full 12–14-hour day rather than a short excursion.
Is the Lake Naivasha boat ride included in the vehicle price?
No. The private transfer and boat are separate charges. The boat price is KES 7,000 per private boat per hour for up to seven passengers. Crescent Island transfer, sanctuary entry and extra boat time are separate unless included in writing.
Are Mount Longonot park fees included?
